Defibrillators

Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) are compact, portable, easy to use, safe and very effective. They can be used by anyone, whether or not they have had formal training. Any defibrillator gives the person using it voice instructions, a defibrillator will not allow a shock to be administered unless the collapsed person needs one.

Defibrillators provided for use by members of the public are called public accessible defibrillators.

Ballater Community Council are responsible for the checking of the following public accessible defibrillators, the funds to maintain the defibrillators are provided by Ballater Royal Deeside.

They are located in the following places:

1) Outside the Victoria Hall Entrance, Station Square, Ballater

2) Outside the Public Toilets, Station Square, Ballater

3) Outside Park House, Ballater Caravan Park, Ballater

4) Outside Sheridan’s Butchers Shop, Bridge Street, Ballater

5) Outside Crathie Tourist Information Office, Balmoral Car Park, Crathie

The above are the only defibrillators that are accessible 24Hours / 7Days for public use if and when required.

They are registered with ‘The Circuit’ which is the national (UK) network that provides the National Health Service ambulance services with the locations of the nearest publicly accessible defibrillators to the incident they are called to.
